Division faculty specialize in resident medical education and continuing professional development in the areas of pediatric critical care and pediatric sedation.

The Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Conference is intended for primary care physicians and specialty physicians including critical care, cardiology, pulmonology, hematology/oncology pediatric transplant surgery, pediatric neurosurgery and others. In addition, the topics discussed will address the continuing educational needs of nurse practioners, fellows and residents.
The purpose of the Pediatric Critical Care Medicine Conference is to:
- Explain the application of evidence-based advances in pediatric critical care medicine to current practice.
- Define state-of-the-art practices ina a variety of pediatric critical care scenarios.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support Seminar
This two-day course, offered twice every year, provides advanced practical skills in evaluation and treatment of acute illness and injury in the pediatrics patient during the first critical hour. This is an intense course composed of lectures and practical skill sessions. The skill sessions and laboratory include work in the Human Patient Simulator (HPS) laboratory and performance of simulated pediatric resuscitations.

This self-directed pediatric sedation website has been created to:
- Educate physicians to provide safe and effective sedation in children.
- Educate physicians to the rules and regulations that relate to Pediatric Procedural Sedation at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics.
- Credential staff physicians to conduct Pediatric Moderate Sedation for specific sedatives and procedures.
